What did you study or work on when you were a student?

I have been interested in IT since I was a student, so I studied IT-related subjects throughout high school and college.

I studied languages such as C and C++ in high school to master the basics of programming and the concept of algorithms. After entering university, I began to pay attention to new technologies and other information in order to be able to deal with a wide range of fields.

What have you worked on most during your school years?

I have always been interested in all things computer related and have tried as many different technologies as I could find time for.

Aside from program development, I enjoyed working in hardware-related fields, 3D modeling, and DTM (desktop music). In particular, I was into building my own computers for a while, and I enjoyed checking the latest parts information and thinking about how to build cost-effective and high-performance PCs and servers.

Why did you choose Proaxia Consulting?

In considering employment, I gathered information on various companies.
Because I wanted to challenge myself with various new technologies in the IT field, I was looking for a company that was active in a wide range of fields, rather than one that focused on a particular service or field.

At the company information session, when I was briefed on the projects the company had handled in the past and the technical fields it was focusing on, I was able to confirm that the company was active in many fields that I was interested in. Another deciding factor for me was the company’s policy of giving priority to projects in fields in which employees are interested.

Another positive factor was that the person in charge of employment was very kind and helpful, which facilitated smooth communication as I prepared to join the company.

What did you learn from the newcomer training between April and June after joining the company?

In the newcomer training, we learned about basic IT knowledge as well as business manners and business skills required for working adults.

I did not have much difficulty in learning basic IT knowledge because I had studied it during my school days, but I had no experience at all in business manners and business skills, so I was able to learn a lot.

I was able to learn some business manners and business skills by the end of the training, because I have repeatedly practiced them in daily training and debriefing sessions as well as attending external training programs.
Recently, I have not been able to practice what I have learned because I work remotely and have few opportunities to meet with customers in person, but I would like to practice more and more and get used to it before I forget it.

What is it like to participate in a customer project?

I have participated in several projects and have learned a lot from the upstream process of design and study to the release of the system.

At school, I learned about programming languages and development methods, but I had no experience in the design stage, such as evaluating the services to be used to systemize the customer’s requirements and examining the system configuration through technical verification, so I was learning something new every day.

By participating in the project, I was able to understand the flow of building a system and what is done in each process. Especially in the design phase, not only do we have to consider how to achieve the functions that the customer is looking for, but we also have to consider various aspects such as operational costs during and after implementation, maintainability, and compatibility with other systems already in operation, so I feel that a wide range of knowledge and a lot of experience are necessary.

What is your role in the project?

In my first project, I was mainly responsible for the development and testing processes.

Especially in the testing process, I was in charge not only of the testing work but also of preparing checklists, which helped me understand what kind of checks are necessary to evaluate that a program is working properly.
I feel that this has broadened my perspective when developing programs and will enable me to develop more accurate and stable programs.

Recently, I have been working on a cloud system migration project, where I am in charge of technical verification and evaluation during the design phase.

In the verification work, along with determining technical feasibility, I need to consider how we can efficiently achieve the client’s requirements, so I am struggling to gain a deep understanding of the specifications of the products and services we use.

What have you learned from participating in the project?

When I participated in the project, I realized that I needed to consider many things that I had not considered during my student days in development, and that there were many things that I could not solve on my own.

I did my own research and came up with solutions to problems during development, but I lacked in-depth consideration of whether the solutions were appropriate and whether there were other better ways to handle the problems.

It is important to think about issues and problems on one’s own, but I would like to organize the results of my own thinking and then consult with my seniors in order to come up with appropriate answers, instead of holding them all by myself.

What kind of engineer do you want to become in the future?

I am now mainly in charge of programming, but in the future I would like to become an engineer who can be in charge of upstream processes such as proposal and requirement definition. In particular, in the proposal and requirement definition stages, I would like to be able to understand the issues the customer is facing and the goals they want to achieve, and to be able to determine what is truly necessary and make proposals accordingly.

This requires not only development skills, but also a wide range of knowledge in various fields, including business knowledge and product knowledge such as infrastructure and services. I would like to expand my knowledge base by first acquiring product and business knowledge used in the projects I am in charge of.

How do you balance your personal and professional life?

What are your aspirations for the future?

At this stage, I am still in the position of being followed and supported by the members around me, but in the future I expect that junior members will join me, and I would like to become a supporter in any way I can.

To this end, I would first like to deepen my knowledge in my area of expertise and become at a level where I can teach others.
